Performing Arts - Creative Arts Team Member: Ireland

Here at OM Ireland the Creative Arts Ministry Department is all about using our creative, random, crazy, out of the box ideas to share the love of God. We place a strong emphasis on creativity and the arts and we have pioneered a range of programmes using the arts:

-Music, Dance, Drama, Puppets, Ballooning, Visual Arts, Gospel Illusions, Storytelling, Bus Ministry, Training/Workshops

The team members will be encouraged to use their talents and also to learn and develop new ones. Performers will be encouraged to engage in and/or develop community projects. This is a pioneering opportunity, so many of the outreaches will take much initiative on your part. You will have the full support of the Creative Arts Team.

We are looking for volunteers with a range of experience from amateur to professional – musicians, script writers, theatre directors, actors, puppeteers, dancers, storytellers, magicians, clowns, etc.

  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Commitment Length: 1-2 years (full time)
  • 18 years or older, married couples and families are accepted
  • Previous experience in children's and/or youth work is desirable
  • Previous experience in creative arts is required
  • Flexibility is required in regards to your ministry involvement because you may not solely be working in your area of expertise
  • A passion to share Jesus with others
  • Able to work well in a team, even in stressful situations
  • Self- motivated and self -disciplined
  • Enjoy travel or bring motion sickness tablets because much of our ministry involves travelling around Ireland
  • You must be flexible in everything ranging from time and accommodation, to food
  • We will encourage you to use and develop your gifts during your time with us as well as explore new ones
  • You must be communicative and creative
  • Together with the Creative Arts Team you will be responsible for the development and application of programmes for youth and children on the Big Red Bus as well as other outreaches and community projects
  • You must fulfil the OM Ireland child protection requirements- this may involve a police check in your home country before you join
  • As Ireland is an English speaking country, a good knowledge of English speaking is required.
  • Willing to do some office work which includes writing reports, phoning schools to book shows, script writing, writing and developing training materials etc.

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
