Logos Hope is coming to Ireland PDF Print

Logos HopeAfter years of preparation, OM's newest vessel  Logos Hope - was launched into ministry service on Thursday 19 February.  At the same time, Logos Hope's visit to three ports in Ireland was confirmed - the ship is on its way!

As Logos Hope sailed from Koge, Denmark a massive five-year project of conversion and outfitting came to a climax.  The international volunteer crew is overjoyed to begin the work of bringing knowledge, help and hope.  And it is with a message of hope in a time of despair that Logos Hope will arrive in Ireland.

"At just the right time, when Ireland is battling fear and despair, we will welcome LOGOS HOPE - a ship that is a symbol of the message it carries, a reminder that true hope can only be found in God," shared OM Ireland Director Mike Mullins. "Through this visit, we want to enrich every life we touch and let every person in Ireland know that there is hope."

Don't miss Logos Hope in Ireland

Belfast, 30 April - 10 May 2009

Dublin, 14 - 24 May 2009

Cork, 3 - 13 July 2009

Thanks to perseverance, patience and prayer!

The huge project to renovate and outfit the ship has included replacing and upgrading fire, safety, electrical, and ventilation systems, renewing accommodation and other community spaces, and installing a whole new deck for the visitor experience, including the world's largest floating book fair.

In recent months, enormous effort has gone into fulfilling all the requirements to obtain the vital Passenger Ship Safety Certificate, and ensuring that all the safety procedures and vessel documentation are in order.

"We recognise that we would not be where we are today without the great efforts of skilled people, often accomplished behind the scenes, and with much sweat, pain and difficulty. We are grateful for their perseverance, patience and prayer in the face of many challenges. Their work has been a tremendous expression of personal faith and courage. Looking to the future, the investment made will result in millions of people experiencing the grace and love of God," said Logos Hope Project Director Lloyd Nicholas.
