Light a match! (7 - 21 July 2009)
If you go into a pitch dark room and light a match, the result is dramatic. Even the smallest amount of light will dispel darkness. Impact Ireland is all about lighting that match; finding simple ways of shining the light of the Gospel into lives and communities in Ireland, bringing new hope.
For the last three years, OM Ireland has worked in partnership with Irish churches for its summer outreach programme Impact Ireland. Made up of enthusiastic volunteers from all over the world, OM Ireland teams provide extra manpower for churches as they seek to reach into their local community. From cleaning graffiti to serving coffee, from running children's holiday clubs to engaging with disaffected teens, Impact Ireland teams together with local church members have opened new doors of opportunity and helped to build bridges. This summer's programme will begin with a short training programme. Teams will then head out across Ireland to serve alongside local churches, sharing and demonstrating the good news of Jesus in a wide variety of ways. "This is an incredible opportunity to put faith into action and serve God together with others from across the world," shared OM Ireland Programme Director, Andrew Garvey-Williams. "Impact Ireland also offers Irish churches the chance to make a lasting impact in their community, with the help of passionate, enthusiastic volunteers." "We are looking for churches to host a team for one week from 11 - 19 July. We are also offering new regional travelling teams which will spend two or three days with a host church before moving on to another town or village." Want to find out more? Contact us now! |
