Impact Ireland is all about sharing the Gospel with people who do not know Jesus, confident that the Gospel will make an impact in their lives.
Our exciting programme involves Christians from around the world working together with local churches sharing and demonstrating the love of Jesus. It enables participants to experience thought-provoking, creative, interactive training, then join an international team to share the message of the Gospel in word and action, together with local Christians across Ireland.
Purpose
- Introduce Irish people to Jesus by sharing the Gospel message widely and creatively, especially among children and young people.
- Inspire Irish believers to live for Christ.
- Encourage and support Irish churches in evangelism.
- Help participants to grow in their love for God and their confidence in sharing the Gospel.
The programme starts with three days of training and orientation at Lacken House, OM Ireland's headquarters.
Training includes
- Bible teaching
- worship
- prayer
- introduction to culture
- the essentials in communicating Jesus
- workshops to give you practical skills for the week to follow
There are three ways you can participate in Impact Ireland based on your passions.
1. church partnership team
After training, church partnership teams will head out across Ireland working with local believers to share the Gospel and demonstrate God's love in action. In previous years we have run the following programmes and we expect to continue:
- children’s clubs
- cleaning litter on estates
- street theatre
- leaflet distribution
- musical opportunities
- visiting the elderly
- gardening
- sporting activities with youth
participant profile We are looking for people who are passionate about Jesus and want to share the Gospel. Team members will need to be flexible and willing to try new things. A good level of English is required as all training and outreach activities will be in English.
2. cross walk team
Walking with a 12 foot wooden Cross through Irish towns and villages, you will meet people from all walks of life, praying for them and sharing the reason for your journey.
Participant profile We are looking for people who are passionate about Jesus and want to share the Gospel in radical ways. This is a walk of faith and many of the details will be discovered along the way, therefore you will need to be extremely flexible, willing to try new things and not afraid of changing plans at the last minute - as well as be in good health and have a sturdy pair of walking shoes. A good level of English is required as all training and outreach activities will be in English.
3. service and prayer team
This programme starts with the three days of training and orientation at Lacken House, where you will be taking part in a service team: working in the kitchen and on a cleaning schedule. Travelling out from Lacken House during the week, you will continue to provide vital prayer support by visiting teams across the country and bringing their needs and the needs of the Irish people before God.
